Mayor Rusty Paul will deliver Sandy Springs' annual State of the City address on Sept. 15, outlining the city's progress and plans for residents and business leaders.
The luncheon runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Terrace Meeting Room at 1 Galambos Way. The Greater Perimeter Chamber hosts the event in partnership with the city, bringing together civic and business leaders for an update on Sandy Springs' direction, according to the chamber's event listing.
Paul, who won a fourth term in December 2025, will use the address to review accomplishments and lay out priorities, Appen Media reported Friday, Sept. 4.
"Each year, I look forward to celebrating our achievements, updating the community on key issues and outlining our plans to address them," Paul said in a statement to Appen Media.
Specific topics for the address have not been announced. The city does face several pending decisions heading into fall 2026.
Fulton County voters will decide whether to renew the 0.75% Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) in a fall 2026 referendum. Sandy Springs stands to receive about $129 million for roads, sidewalks and congestion relief if the tax is renewed, according to Patch citing Rough Draft Atlanta.
Fulton County and mayors from North and South Fulton cities signed an agreement Aug. 3 to continue the tax, according to the county's official social media account. The renewal would keep the city's sales tax rate at 7.75%.
Paul has also said the city is entering mediation with Atlanta over buying the local water system. He cited aging infrastructure and persistent leaks as reasons for the push, Patch reported.
A limited number of free seats are available for Sandy Springs residents who want to attend the address without a meal. Tickets that include lunch can be purchased separately. Both options require advance registration through the Greater Perimeter Chamber's website, and complimentary seating is first-come, first-served.
Residents with free tickets should arrive and be seated by noon.
