Six adults stranded along the Chattahoochee River near the East Palisades Trail on Saturday, July 25, were all brought to safety with no injuries, Atlanta Fire Rescue confirmed.

The agency deployed boats, drones, and ground teams to reach the group, which had become stranded on the riverbank just inside I-285. During the operation, Atlanta Fire Rescue asked residents to avoid the area around the interstate bridges while crews worked.

The rescue took place in 90-degree heat Saturday afternoon. Atlanta Fire Rescue has not said how the group became stranded.

The Chattahoochee National Park Conservancy advises that water releases from Buford Dam can cause river levels to rise quickly and create dangerous conditions depending on a visitor's location.
