The Fulton County District Attorney's Office will not prosecute Atlanta radio personality Darian "Big Tigger" Morgan on charges stemming from a domestic dispute at his Sandy Springs home.

Sandy Springs Police arrested Morgan on June 20 and booked him into the Fulton County Jail on charges that 11Alive described as aggravated assault and cruelty to children in the third degree. Other outlets reported the charge as aggravated battery. Morgan posted $10,000 bond and was released the same day. The DA's office notified the police department of its decision the week of Tuesday, Sept. 1.

TMZ first reported the decision on Friday, Sept. 4, citing court documents.

The charges traced to a May 9 confrontation at the couple's home. According to the arrest affidavit, Morgan and his wife, Alicia Brown, argued over text messages he had received from a female co-worker. Arrest warrants alleged Morgan grabbed Brown by the arms and pushed her, causing her to stumble headfirst into a door. Brown suffered a deep laceration above her left eye, The Source reported.

Brown received treatment at a Dunwoody urgent-care facility before being transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Medical personnel contacted police because of the severity of the injury. Investigators cited Ring camera footage and photographs of Brown's injury while establishing probable cause.

The cruelty-to-children charge alleged the couple's 13-year-old son was upstairs during the confrontation and could hear what was happening. Morgan's bond broke down to $9,000 for the felony charge and $1,000 for the child-cruelty charge.

No official explanation for the DA's decision has been made public.

It is not an acquittal or a finding that the allegations were false.

Morgan denied the allegations. In a June 24 Instagram statement, he wrote: "I unequivocally deny every allegation that has been made against me." Morgan, host of The Big Tigger Morning Show on V-103, stepped away from his radio show in July while his attorneys handled the case.

Brown, meanwhile, has filed a separate federal lawsuit against Fulton County Sheriff Patrick Labat. The suit, filed Aug. 14 in U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, centers on a high-risk traffic stop and Brown's arrest on July 6 on Interstate 85, 11Alive reported. Two outstanding warrants were involved: a Fulton County warrant accusing Brown of interference with child custody, and a separate Baltimore County, Maryland warrant tied to an unrelated matter. Brown's lawsuit alleges the Fulton County warrant was erroneous, since a Fulton County judge had already issued a protective order June 24 granting her custody of the minor children — less than two weeks before her arrest.

Brown's lawsuit alleges Morgan had "unusual access" to Sheriff Labat or sheriff's office personnel. The suit raises questions about communications between the sheriff's office and Morgan concerning Brown's location, the warrant and her detention. The Fulton County warrant was later recalled and no prosecution followed, according to the lawsuit.

The Fulton County Sheriff's Office said it could not comment on pending litigation. Brown's lawsuit seeks compensatory and punitive damages, and a jury trial. No next court date has been publicly scheduled.
