Fulton County needs residents to help staff more than 175 polling locations for the Nov. 3 midterm election, and Sandy Springs voters have multiple ways to sign up.

The county's Registration and Elections Department is ramping up recruitment ahead of National Poll Worker Recruitment Day on Tuesday, Aug. 11, according to Fulton Neighbor. The annual event, created by the U.S. Election Assistance Commission in 2020, aims to boost volunteer ranks before general elections.

Sandy Springs has at least two early voting sites that need staffing: the Sandy Springs Library at 395 Mount Vernon Highway and the North Fulton Service Center at 7741 Roswell Road, according to Fulton County's elections page.

Not every position is open. As of Thursday, Aug. 6, the county's poll worker application page lists the Election Day poll worker application as closed but still accepts applications for advance voting poll workers, polling place technicians, temporary office staff and warehouse positions. The county notes that priority goes to workers who served in the previous election and that available spots are limited.

Election Day workers must attend in-person training before the general election and work the full day. The county pays workers for completing training, provided they finish their Election Day shift. Polling place technicians earned $400 during the county's spring election cycle, though pay for November has not been confirmed.

The eligibility bar is broad. Residents do not need to be registered voters to serve, and students as young as 16 can work the polls, according to Ballotpedia. Most workers must live in Fulton County, but residents of adjoining counties can serve with an approved waiver.

The county held a recruitment fair at Roswell City Hall in March as part of the same 2026 cycle push. Whether the Aug. 11 outreach will include a Sandy Springs event has not been announced.
