North Springs High School posted the first renderings of its roughly $177 million replacement building on Thursday, Sept. 24. The images, shared on the school's social media account, show the exterior of the new campus at 7447 Roswell Road NE.

The building is scheduled to open in August 2027. The school said more images would follow in the weeks ahead.

The new building, designed by Collins Cooper Carusi Architects, will hold up to 1,500 students in grades 9–12. That is a significant jump from the school's current enrollment of about 1,195, adding roughly 305 seats of capacity. Carroll Daniel Construction of Gainesville is the general contractor for the project's second phase.

As we reported Sept. 23, construction is on schedule. The Fulton County Schools district's capital plan page confirms students will occupy the new campus for the 2027–2028 school year.

The project breaks down into two phases. Phase I, completed in spring 2025, covered site preparation: demolishing the old athletic facilities, removing parking areas and installing new drainage systems. Phase II, now underway, covers the new school building along with updated academic spaces and athletic facilities.

After students move in, the existing building will be demolished. The stadium, athletic fields, courts and parking lots are expected to be finished by August 2028.

The total budget of approximately $177 million includes $15 million for Phase I site work. The Fulton County Schools (FCS) Board of Education approved a $136.8 million Phase II construction contract in April 2025, and furniture, fixtures, equipment and IT will add roughly $20 million. Two education special-purpose local-option sales taxes (ESPLOST) fund the project: ESPLOST IV and ESPLOST V.

The new campus will also house a north location of the Promise Career Institute, a career and technical education program based in College Park. FCS Chief Operations Officer Noel Maloof told the board at an April 17, 2025, work session that the new school would include the north Promise Career Institute site, as first reported by Rough Draft Atlanta.

FCS Board Member Lillie Pozatek said at that same April 2025 session that the expansion would help students on the north side of the county. "On this side of the river, for example, we had several lots of students who wanted to go down to PCI, but the distance was just prohibitive of that," Pozatek said.

North Springs already operates STEAM, Creative Arts Conservatory and Accelerated Career Diploma magnet programs.

Fulton County Schools is hosting an All Access Expo at North Springs on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event is open to eighth and ninth graders and all FCS families to explore magnet programs and career pathways.
