Sandy Springs-based BroadPeak Capital is expanding its Roti Modern Mediterranean chain into metro Atlanta with a new standalone restaurant planned for Forsyth Town Center in Cumming.

A permit filing confirmed the lease for a 2,124-square-foot space at 3125 Ronald Reagan Parkway, Suite 912B, ToNeTo Atlanta reported Sept. 10.

No opening date has been announced.

The Cumming location would be Roti's first standalone restaurant in metro Atlanta. The chain already runs a ghost kitchen in Smyrna, which opened in January, and a counter inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

BroadPeak Capital, the private equity firm formed by Edible Arrangements founder Tariq Farid, bought Roti out of Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2025 for about $4.7 million, Franchise Times reported. The deal was BroadPeak's first acquisition.

Farid moved Edible Arrangements' headquarters from Connecticut to Sandy Springs in 2018. Roti is now also headquartered in Sandy Springs under the Edible Brands holding company, which includes Edible Arrangements and Edibles.com, a hemp wellness brand that opened a brick-and-mortar store in Inman Park in April.

Roti launched in Chicago in 2007 and peaked at 42 restaurants across six markets in 2020. The chain closed about a third of its locations in 2021 before filing for bankruptcy in 2024. It now operates 16 traditional locations in Minnesota, Illinois and Washington, D.C., according to ToNeTo Atlanta.

The brand started franchising for the first time in August 2025. The cost to open a franchise ranges from $509,800 to $869,200, according to its franchise disclosure document.

When Roti opened the Smyrna ghost kitchen in January, Matthew Walls, president and chief stores officer of Edible Brands, called it "a major step forward in our development strategy," according to Restaurant Dive.

Roti won't be the only Mediterranean option near Forsyth Town Center. Cava, with nearly 500 locations nationally and 27 in Georgia, operates across the street in The Collection at Forsyth. House of Hummus, a locally owned quick-serve eatery, also sits nearby.

Forsyth Town Center is anchored by Whole Foods Market. Chipotle and Panda Express have already opened there, and a Potbelly is also slated for the center.

A build-your-own rice bowl with chicken, sides, sauces, spreads, toppings and pita runs $13.50 at Roti's Minneapolis locations, according to Franchise Times.
