Sandy Springs has scheduled five free events between mid-September and Halloween, headlined by the Blue Stone Arts & Music Festival and a trick-or-treat gathering called Spooky Springs.
The full lineup, reported by Rough Draft Atlanta, also includes OktoberFEAST and the seventh annual Paws & Pastries. Every event is free to attend.
The season opened Wednesday, Sept. 16, with Fall Fun for All at Morgan Falls Overlook Park Pavilion. The annual event offers carnival games, prizes and entertainment for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities.
Next up is the Blue Stone Arts & Music Festival on Friday, Sept. 25, and Saturday, Sept. 26, in the heart of City Springs. Now in its fourth year, the free downtown fair spans four city blocks and features a market with more than 60 artists, kids' activities and live music. October opens with two events on the same day.
The seventh annual Paws & Pastries runs from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Morgan Falls Overlook Park. Dogs can socialize in separate fenced areas for small and large breeds while their owners enjoy complimentary treats, pastries and prizes. An optional dog costume contest caps the afternoon. The city encourages advance registration on the city's Paws & Pastries page. Attendees should bring their own dog bowl and water.
OktoberFEAST returns to City Springs that same weekend, Saturday and Saturday, Oct. 17–18, from 3 to 7 p.m. each day. The festival blends Bavarian traditions with Southern hospitality and features live performances by The Swinging Bavarians, family activities and an expanded selection of German-inspired food and beverages.
Spooky Springs closes the fall slate on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Abernathy Greenway Playable Art Park. The event features candy stations, face painting, music, food trucks and Halloween-themed activities aimed at young trick-or-treaters and their families.
