Sandy Springs voters who still need to cast a ballot must go to their assigned precinct on Tuesday, Nov. 3, and Fulton County Elections is warning that polling locations may have changed since the last election.

Early voting ended Oct. 30. The countywide advance voting sites where Fulton County residents could drop in at any location are no longer an option, Atlanta News First reported. On Election Day, Georgia law requires voters to cast ballots at their specific assigned neighborhood precinct.

Fulton County Elections posted the warning on X on Oct. 31: voters' polling places may have changed, and residents should verify their location before heading out.

How to check your precinct

The Georgia Secretary of State's My Voter Page lets residents look up their assigned poll location, registration status and sample ballot. The state site notes it pulls from Georgia's statewide voter registration database but is not the official record of registration, which is kept by the county.

Polls across the state open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m., according to Atlanta News First. Anyone standing in line by 7 p.m. is legally entitled to vote.

Georgia law requires an accepted photo ID to vote in person. The Secretary of State Elections Division lists accepted forms of identification on its website.

Record early turnout sets the stage

More than 2.8 million Georgians voted early this cycle, shattering the previous midterm high of nearly 2.3 million set in 2022, according to data from the Georgia Secretary of State's Office cited by Atlanta News First.

Fulton County saw a 26% jump in first-day early voting turnout compared with the 2022 midterm, Appen Media reported. Nearly 24,000 Fulton voters cast ballots on Oct. 13, the first day of early voting, up from 18,923 on the first day in 2022. The county's voter rolls have grown 16% since 2022 to 872,630 registered voters, according to the Georgia Secretary of State's Election Data Hub.

Fulton County Commissioner Bob Ellis, who represents District 2, posted similar precinct guidance on X ahead of the May 19 primary election, urging voters to verify their assigned locations because some had changed.

Sandy Springs residents can visit the My Voter Page at mvp.sos.ga.gov or download the Fulton Votes mobile app to confirm their precinct before polls open at 7 a.m. Tuesday.
