A 27-foot hot dog on wheels is coming to City Green.

The Oscar Mayer Wienermobile will be on display at the Sandy Springs Farmers Market on Saturday, August 1, as part of the market's "dog days of summer" celebration. The market opens at 8:30 a.m. and runs until noon at 1 Galambos Way.

More than 50 vendors set up at City Green each Saturday, according to market organizers. On August 1, Bruster's will hand out pup cups for dogs and hot dogs for their owners. The event is billed as pet-friendly and photo-friendly, with well-behaved dogs welcome in the plaza and sidewalk areas. Pets are not allowed on City Green itself, according to City Springs event listings.

The market has grown since the city of Sandy Springs took over operations in 2021, after Heritage Sandy Springs dissolved its 35-year run. Erin Cianciolo, who has managed the market since February 2022, oversaw an opening day in April 2024 that drew roughly 2,000 visitors. That was the best opening day in the market's then-14-year history, according to Appen Media.

The Sandy Springs Farmers Market has won the Georgia Business Journal's Best of Georgia award in the Produce Markets and Local Farms category three consecutive years, in 2023, 2024, and 2025, according to the market's Facebook page and GBJ listings.

Six Wienermobiles are touring the country this year, each 27 feet long and operated by a two-person crew of recent college graduates known as "hotdoggers," according to the Chicago Tribune. Oscar Mayer receives more than 5,000 applications a year for the gig. The vehicle first hit the road 90 years ago, making 2026 its anniversary year on American highways.

The Sandy Springs Farmers Market runs every Saturday through November, rain or shine. The following Saturday, August 8, the market will celebrate National Farmers Market Week with live entertainment from Lauran Hunt and Acoustic Honey.
