A man wanted on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in Texas was arrested at the Atlanta Greyhound bus station on Thursday, July 9. Fulton County Sheriff's Office investigators intercepted him before he could board a bus to Mississippi.
Nathan Cataldi, 42, faces charges of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (Family Violence) out of McKinney, Texas. He is being held at the Fulton County Jail, according to an FCSO press release issued the same day.
The McKinney Police Department alerted the FCSO that Cataldi was traveling through Atlanta on a Greyhound bus en route to Mississippi. The FCSO's Strategic Enforcement Unit coordinated an operational plan and deployed deputies to the station within minutes of receiving the intelligence, the release stated. Cataldi was taken into custody without incident.
Fulton County Sheriff Patrick "Pat" Labat said the arrest reflects the office's commitment to inter-agency cooperation.
"It should be beyond clear that there is no safe haven in Fulton County," Labat said. "Our investigators stand ready to partner with agencies across the nation to locate and apprehend fugitives before they have another opportunity to endanger innocent people."
The FCSO did not release details about the time of day of the arrest, the number of deputies involved, or Cataldi's expected extradition timeline to Texas.
Why it matters for Sandy Springs
The Fulton County Sheriff's Office holds jurisdiction over warrant service, fugitive apprehension, and jail operations across all of Fulton County, including Sandy Springs. While the Sandy Springs Police Department handles day-to-day law enforcement within city limits, the FCSO is the agency responsible for executing arrest warrants and housing inmates countywide.
