Sandy Springs Police are asking residents to help identify a man connected to an aggravated assault that occurred Saturday, June 27, on Northwood Drive, a residential street in the southern part of the city near the Atlanta border.

The department, led by Chief Ken DeSimone, posted a Be On the Lookout alert Thursday, Aug. 6, with a photo of the suspect and a direct appeal for the public's help. Investigators had been working the case for more than five weeks before releasing the BOLO publicly, suggesting earlier leads may not have panned out.

The alert went out simultaneously on the department's Facebook, X and Instagram accounts. As of Thursday afternoon, the post had drawn minimal public engagement, with 432 impressions and no replies on X.

What police have released

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male. The department did not include additional physical details such as height, weight, hair color or age in the public flyer.

The case status is listed as "Identification Needed," meaning no arrest warrant has been issued. Police have not named the suspect.

The BOLO did not release information about the victim, what type of weapon may have been involved or the broader circumstances of the assault.

Northwood Drive sits in the 30328 zip code and includes a mix of single-family homes, condos and apartment complexes. The assault occurred more than five weeks ago, and police have not indicated whether the suspect is believed to still be in the area.
