Riverwood International Charter School's baseball team is taking pre-orders for its 32nd annual Christmas tree sale, a Sandy Springs tradition that raises money for the program.
The fundraiser sells fresh-cut Fraser Fir trees ranging from six to 12 feet tall, according to the program's fundraiser website. Trees are available only through online pre-order. The team does not anticipate offering walk-up sales, Rough Draft Atlanta reported, and buyers should order before the Nov. 25 deadline or while supplies last.
Proceeds go directly to the baseball program, according to the fundraiser site.
Customers order online, then pick up their tree at the Riverwood Christmas tree lot next to the baseball field at 5900 Raider Drive. Buyers can select their own tree at the lot or have the team choose one for them. Pickup runs three days the weekend after Thanksgiving:
- Saturday, Nov. 28: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Sunday, Nov. 29: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Monday, Nov. 30: 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Delivery within the Riverwood school district is available for an additional fee.
Baseball players and their parents volunteer at the lot each year, helping customers find their trees, fresh-cutting the trunks and loading them onto vehicles, according to the Riverwood Athletics website.
The program also partners with local organizations to provide trees to families who might not otherwise have one. Last year the team donated more than 75 trees to local families, the athletics site said.
Supporters who do not need a tree can donate one through the fundraiser site or make a direct contribution. The Nov. 25 pre-order deadline applies to donated trees as well.
