A Roswell Road massage business is closed after Sandy Springs police arrested an employee on a sexual battery charge and discovered the spa was operating with licensing and permitting violations.
Michael Decker, an employee at Massage and Medspa Solutions, was arrested after a customer accused him of inappropriate contact during a massage, according to WSB-TV. Fox 5 Atlanta described Decker as a massage therapist at the spa. Police said they were contacted about the complaint on Wednesday, Aug. 12.
When officers responded to the business, they found licensing and permitting violations and shut the spa down.
The spa is now closed.
The arrest follows a public appeal Sandy Springs police made on Wednesday, Aug. 12, through their "Wanted Wednesday" social media series, as we reported Aug. 13. At that point, the suspect had not been identified. Police released enhanced surveillance photos and asked residents for help.
Detective Nanoff is leading the investigation.
What's not yet known
The specific nature of the permitting violations has not been disclosed. It is unclear whether they involve massage therapy licensing, city business permits or both. No additional charges beyond sexual battery have been confirmed, and Decker's bond status has not been reported.
