Sandy Springs police are asking residents to help identify a man wanted in connection with a sexual battery investigation, warning the public not to approach him.

The department released two photos of the suspect on Wednesday, Aug. 12, as part of its recurring "Wanted Wednesday" series on social media. One image was captured by a store's security camera. The second is the same photo enhanced by a professional image-enhancement company to provide a clearer view, the Sandy Springs Police Department said on Instagram.

Detective Nanoff is leading the investigation.

Police have not released the date or location of the alleged incident, a physical description of the suspect beyond the surveillance images, or a case number. The department has not announced a follow-up press conference or additional release of information.

The department stressed that anyone who recognizes the man should not approach or attempt to contact him. Residents who spot him or believe they have immediate information about his whereabouts should call 911 immediately.

"Wanted Wednesday" is a recurring Sandy Springs Police series in which the department publishes photos of unidentified suspects on its social media accounts and asks the community for tips. The department posted the Aug. 12 alert on both its Instagram and Facebook pages. Fox 5 Atlanta also covered the case.

This is a separate investigation from the aggravated assault suspect police asked the public to help identify on Aug. 6. That case involved an attack on Northwood Drive and was handled by Detective W. Delaney.
