North Springs High School gave Sandy Springs families their first look inside the school's $177 million replacement building on Wednesday, Oct. 7. The school posted new interior renderings on its official X account.

The images show interior spaces of the new campus at 7447 Roswell Road NE. The school said it plans to move in and begin classes in August 2027.

The renderings follow exterior images the school released on Sept. 24. At the time, the school said more images would follow in the weeks ahead. As we reported on the first exterior renderings Sept. 25, the building was designed by Collins Cooper Carusi Architects with capacity for up to 1,500 students in grades 9–12.

That is a significant expansion. North Springs' enrollment stood at about 1,195 students as of September, meaning the new building adds roughly 305 seats.

The school already operates STEAM, Creative Arts Conservatory and Accelerated Career Diploma magnet programs. The new campus will also house a north location of the Promise Career Institute (PCI), a career and technical education program previously available only at its College Park site in south Fulton County.

District 2 board member Lillie Pozatek, who represents Sandy Springs, spoke about the PCI addition at an April 17, 2025, board work session. "On this side of the river, for example, we had several lots of students who wanted to go down to PCI, but the distance was just prohibitive of that …" Pozatek said at that session.

Carroll Daniel Construction of Gainesville is the general contractor for Phase II, which covers the new school building and updated athletic facilities. The Fulton County Schools Board of Education approved the $136.8 million Phase II contract on April 24, 2025. The broader project is funded by two education special-purpose local-option sales taxes, ESPLOST IV and ESPLOST V.

Construction has already shifted some school operations. North Springs' 2025 Summer Bridge program for incoming ninth graders moved to Sandy Springs Middle School because of the building work.

The building is scheduled to be substantially complete by May 7, 2027. After students move in, the existing building will be demolished. The full project, including a stadium, athletic fields, courts and parking lots, is expected to wrap up by Aug. 15, 2028.
